Usually there is only one capillary bed between an artery and vein; an exception to this is the Select one: a. coronary vessels that serve the heart. b. pulmonary system that serves the lungs and where all factors are reversed. c. hepatic portal system which runs from the capillary bed in the intestine to the capillary bed in the liver via a hepatic portal vein. d. brain circulation which requires special continuous blood flow. e. large bones that lack capillaries but are fed by an artery/vein system.
